Introduction to India
Any Introduction to India would have to start with its sheer scale of diversity, not just geographically, but in terms of weather, people, local culture, language and even cuisine. This is a large country, stretching from the ice capped Himalayan range in the North, to the lush, green tropical beaches of Kerala in the south of India. Quite literally, almost every type of landscape can be found in India – even the deserts here are varied ~ from the cold high altitude deserts of Ladakh, near Tibet, to the typical hot deserts of Thar in Rajasthan.
No wonder then that India is often referred to as a Sub Continent. We have prepared a brief, tourist introduction to India below which we trust will give a traveller an overview of what the country is all about in terms of tourism.
